How do we collect your data? Some data is collected when you provide it to us. This may, for example, be data that you enter into a contact form. Other data is collected automatically by our IT systems when you visit the website. This primarily includes technical data (e.g. internet browser, operating system, or time the page was accessed). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter our website.
What do we use your data for? Some of the data is collected to ensure the error-free provision of the website.
What rights do you have regarding your data? You have the right at any time and free of charge to obtain information about the origin, recipients, and purpose of your stored personal data. For this purpose, as well as for any further questions regarding data protection, you may contact us at any time at the address provided in the legal notice. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
You also have the right, under certain circumstances, to request restriction of the processing of your personal data. For details, please refer to the section "Right to Restriction of Processing" in this privacy policy.
2. General Information and Mandatory Information
Data Protection
The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.
When you use this website, various types of personal data are collected. Personal data is data that can be used to personally identify you. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and what we use it for. It also explains how and for what purpose this is done.
Please note that data transmitted via the internet (e.g. when communicating by email) may be subject to security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
Information About the Responsible Entity
The entity responsible for data processing on this website is:
MyGatekeeper gemeinnützige UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
Rambgerstr. 4
30161 Hannover
Email: info@mygatekeeper.de
Phone: 0511 809 000 11
The responsible entity is the natural or legal person who, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of processing personal data (e.g. names, email addresses, etc.).
Withdrawal of Your Consent to Data Processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your explicit consent. You may withdraw consent that you have already given at any time. An informal notification by email is sufficient. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out prior to the withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal.
Right to Object to Data Collection in Special Cases and to Direct Marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
If data processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to object to the processing of your personal data; this also applies to profiling based on these provisions. The respective legal basis on which processing is based can be found in this privacy policy. If you object, we will no longer process the personal data concerned unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or unless the processing serves the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims (objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR).
If your personal data is processed for the purpose of direct marketing, you have the right at any time to object to the processing of personal data concerning you for the purpose of such marketing; this also applies to profiling insofar as it is related to such direct marketing. If you object, your personal data will subsequently no longer be used for direct marketing purposes (objection pursuant to Art. 21(2) GDPR).
Right to Lodge a Complaint with the Competent Supervisory Authority
In the event of violations of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, their place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement. The right to lodge a complaint exists without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedies.
Right to Data Portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract provided to you or to a third party in a commonly used, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be carried out insofar as it is technically feasible.
SSL or TLS Encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as the website operator, this website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser's address bar changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the padlock symbol in your browser bar.
If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Access, Blocking, Deletion, and Correction
Within the framework of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time and free of charge to obtain information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of the data processing, as well as, where applicable, the right to have this data corrected, blocked, or deleted. For this purpose, as well as for any further questions regarding personal data, you may contact us at any time at the address provided in the legal notice.
Right to Restriction of Processing
You have the right to request restriction of the processing of your personal data. You may contact us at any time at the address provided in the legal notice for this purpose. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:
- If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we generally require time to verify this. For the duration of the verification, you have the right to request restriction of the processing of your personal data.
- If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you may request restriction of data processing instead of deletion.
- If we no longer require your personal data, but you need it for the exercise, defence, or establishment of legal claims, you have the right to request restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of deletion.
- If you have objected pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR, a balancing of your interests and ours must be carried out. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request restriction of the processing of your personal data.
If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, such data may – apart from being stored – only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims, for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person, or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.
Objection to Promotional Emails
The use of contact details published as part of the legal notice obligation for the purpose of sending unsolicited advertising and informational materials is hereby objected to. The operators of the website expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising information being sent, for example through spam emails.
3. Data Collection on Our Website
When using our application, a so-called JWT (JSON Web Token) is set. This is a small text file that is stored on your device.
The JWTs used serve solely to ensure certain technical functionalities and to enable API routes, for example for logging into the protected area of our website. The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and Section 25(2) No. 2 TTDSG. Our legitimate interest lies in ensuring the functionality of our website and its technical usability.
The JWT tokens are stored on your device for as long as is necessary for the technical operation of our website. Short-lived tokens are updated approximately every 5 minutes, while long-lived tokens remain valid for 30 days and are used to generate new short-lived tokens. The tokens remain in the browser's "Local Storage" until you log out or deliberately delete them.
Server Log Files
The website provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
- Browser type and browser version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Hostname of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
- IP address
This data is not combined with data from other sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of the website – for this purpose, the server log files must be collected.
Contact Form
If you send us enquiries via the contact form, the information you provide in the enquiry form, including the contact details you enter there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing your enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We do not share this data without your consent.
The processing of the data entered into the contact form is therefore carried out exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw this consent at any time. An informal notification by email is sufficient. The lawfulness of the data processing operations carried out prior to withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal.
The data you enter into the contact form will remain with us until you request its deletion, withdraw your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been fully processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
Storage of the IP Address
Our comment function stores the IP addresses of users who post comments. Since we do not review comments on our website before they are published, we require this data in order to be able to take action against the author in the event of legal violations such as insults or propaganda.
Plugins and Tools
YouTube with Enhanced Privacy
Our website uses plugins from the YouTube website. The operator of the pages is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.
We use YouTube in enhanced privacy mode. According to YouTube, this mode means that YouTube does not store information about visitors to this website before they watch the video. However, the transfer of data to YouTube partners is not necessarily excluded by enhanced privacy mode. For example, regardless of whether you watch a video, YouTube establishes a connection to the Google DoubleClick network.
As soon as you start a YouTube video on our website, a connection to YouTube's servers is established. The YouTube server is informed which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you allow YouTube to associate your browsing behaviour directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
Furthermore, after a video is started, YouTube may store various cookies on your device. With the help of these cookies, YouTube can obtain information about visitors to our website. This information is used, among other things, to collect video statistics, improve user-friendliness, and prevent attempted fraud. The cookies remain on your device until you delete them.
After a YouTube video is started, additional data processing operations may be triggered over which we have no control.
The use of YouTube is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Further information about data protection at YouTube can be found in its privacy policy at: https://www.youtube.com/t/privacy_at_youtube.
Vimeo
Our website uses plugins from the Vimeo video portal. The provider is Vimeo Inc., 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA.
If you visit one of our pages that contains a Vimeo plugin, a connection to Vimeo's servers is established. The Vimeo server is informed which of our pages you have visited. Vimeo also obtains your IP address. This also applies if you are not logged into Vimeo or do not have a Vimeo account. The information collected by Vimeo is transmitted to the Vimeo server in the USA.
If you are logged into your Vimeo account, you allow Vimeo to associate your browsing behaviour directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your Vimeo account.
The use of Vimeo is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Further information on how user data is handled can be found in Vimeo's privacy policy at: https://vimeo.com/privacy.
